One of my favorite Disney Princesses is Merida. She is adventurous and the only Princess that I believe has or would ever be censured for bringing a weapon to the table. Her long red curly hair is wild and unpolished. This Princess is rugged. She enjoys riding horses, climbing mountains and archery. 
A Merida costume must include:- the wild curly red hair
- a quiver, a bow, and arrows
- a simple long sleeved dress green or blue dress with a belt.
I do not believe Merida ever wears a crown but Disney does produce a crown in their officially licensed Merida clothing. One of the popular costume designs is actually of the blue dress that Merida is forced to wear by her Mother when Merida judges the archery competition.
